I've been reading blogs for over 10 years. I love how they've evolved through the years and I truly hope blogs are here for a long time to come. It's so easy to put tutorials and brain dumps all right on the 'gram or YouTube channels, but there is so much behind the scenes that I look forward to reading and referencing every week from my favorite bloggers.
One blog that I have loved since I stumbled upon it through Instagram not so long ago is The Lettered Cottage. Layla has this wonderful way of sharing her love of white and green chippy paint while adding so much quirky personality on her Insta Stories. But let me tell you a secret, I didn't actually find her through home decor! I found her when I was experiencing similar anxiety to hers and she shared her process so openly and vulnerably that it made me rethink how I was letting my anxiety get the better of me. She is completely raw in her Stories and I can't thank pioneers like her enough. Truly lighthouses when I'm drowning in the anxiety ocean. Every week Layla does a 'Let's Go with Layla' segment where she shares 5 ideas in home decor from different stores. Last week Layla invited any instagrammer to join her as a cohost which resulted in something like 700 cohosts! It was terrifying and quite fun! I joined fellow instagrammer, Tami from @Howsewears, and we headed to HomeGoods to see what fun things we could find to use in a new, fun, or interesting way. Sadly, I didn't save the footage #amateur. But, the next morning I woke up and I noticed an influx of activity on my instagram. I yelped when I saw that Layla featured my little account and website on her 5 Instagram Photos That Stopped her Scroll. What a fun surprise! I love our dining room. It's a bit whimsical, a bit traditional, and a lot me. It's evident when we have company that most either love it or, are a little curious about the birds. So it's always nice when someone loves something just as much as I do. That's why I was thrilled to see our dining room featured on power house blogger Brooke's site, Nesting with Grace.
